Nigerian sprinter Olaolu Olatunde is preparing to launch his 2026 indoor season in New Mexico, aiming to make a strong impression in the 60m and 200m events. The upcoming meet marks his first competition since joining the University of Iowa, where he hopes to continue building on his rising track career.
Olatunde has shown remarkable progress over the past year, improving his sprint times and gaining experience in international competitions. His transition from Harding University has given him access to new training resources and coaching, which he believes will help him compete at higher levels this season.
In addition to his own races, Olatunde will join other Nigerian athletes participating in U.S. and European indoor events, highlighting a growing presence of Nigerian talent on the global track stage. With a focus on speed and consistency, he is aiming to set personal milestones early in the season and lay the groundwork for a competitive outdoor campaign later this year.
