Preparations for the third edition of the National Para Games in Abuja are progressing steadily after the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) conducted a detailed review of sporting venues ahead of the event scheduled for March 26 to April 3, 2026.

Officials inspected facilities at the MKO Abiola National Stadium Complex and other locations across the Federal Capital Territory to assess readiness. Organizers reviewed 15 different sports sites, including those for wheelchair basketball, para swimming, cycling, powerlifting, athletics, and more.

Most venues were deemed suitable for competition, though a few required minor adjustments, such as improved lighting, court markings, cleaning, or additional seating. Key facilities like the Indoor Basketball Hall and the Swimming Pool area were approved, with organizers recommending simple technical upgrades.

The LOC confirmed that all issues identified during the inspection will be addressed to ensure a safe, accessible, and well‑organized competition, celebrating the skills of athletes with disabilities from across the country. This edition of the National Para Games represents a continued push to promote inclusivity and para‑sports development in Nigeria.
