The legal proceedings involving the driver linked to the road accident that injured former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua have been postponed to mid-March.
Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, who is accused of being behind the wheel during the collision on the Lagos‑Ibadan Expressway late last year, appeared before a magistrate court in Sagamu, Ogun State on Wednesday.
The crash, which occurred on 29 December 2025, left two of Joshua’s close aides dead and the boxer recovering from injuries. Prosecutors requested more time to prepare evidence and witnesses, and the court agreed to push the next hearing to 17 March 2026.
Kayode faces several charges, including dangerous driving that resulted in fatalities, reckless conduct behind the wheel, and allegedly driving without a valid licence. The delay gives the prosecution additional time to organise its case before the matter returns to court.
