Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a significant step into football ownership by purchasing a 25 percent stake in Spanish club UD Almería, marking one of the most high-profile moves of his business career. The deal was completed through his company CR7 Sports Investments, joining him to the group that now steers the club’s direction.
The veteran forward described the investment as part of his ambition to contribute to the sport off the pitch, saying he sees strong foundations and growth potential at Almería and is looking forward to working with the leadership team to support the club’s next chapter.
Club president Mohamed Al-Khereiji welcomed Ronaldo’s entry, highlighting his deep experience and understanding of Spanish football as valuable assets for the team’s future development and academy programs.
Almería currently competes in Spain’s second division, aiming for promotion back to La Liga after being relegated in recent seasons. Ronaldo continues to play professionally for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia while broadening his role in the global football business.
