Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker currently at Galatasaray, has reportedly emerged on the radar of Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
The interest comes despite Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek confirming that Osimhen does not have a release clause in his contract with the Turkish club.
According to The Athletic, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco is planning a summer move for Osimhen to succeed Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires at the end of the season. Former Barcelona star Thierry Henry recently emphasized the need for the Catalan side to secure a top-level striker like Osimhen.
The 27-year-old, a former African Player of the Year, is tied to Galatasaray until June 2029. Ozbek has consistently stressed that his deal contains no pre-agreed exit clause, dismissing speculation linking Osimhen with Juventus and Bayern Munich.
“There is no release clause in Osimhen’s contract. He is an extremely successful footballer who will serve Galatasaray for many years,” Ozbek said in an interview with Fanatik.
The Galatasaray president added that while the €75 million fee paid to make Osimhen’s move from Napoli permanent in 2025 was considered high at the time, the striker’s current market value has risen significantly, reportedly around €150 million.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September 2024 before the transfer was made permanent the following year. Since then, he has become a prolific scorer, netting 53 goals in 65 appearances across all competitions. His long-term contract secures his future at the Istanbul club, even as interest from Europe’s elite clubs grows.
