The Chief Executive Officer of Mother of Models International, Ambassador Jolly Abani, has said the 40 and Fabulous Naija reality television show was created to challenge stereotypes surrounding ageing and to celebrate the strength and achievements of women above 40.
Abani explained that the initiative aims to change societal perceptions that often portray women in their forties as having passed their prime. According to her, the platform highlights the vitality, confidence and continued relevance of mature women in different areas of life.
She noted that in many societies, including Nigeria, women are sometimes sidelined once they reach a certain age. The reality show, she said, was designed to counter such beliefs by celebrating women who remain accomplished, resilient and willing to explore new opportunities.
Speaking ahead of the grand finale of the third season of the show in Abuja, Abani disclosed that the winner will receive a ₦10 million cash prize, a car and other rewards.
This season featured 10 contestants, all in their forties, who lived together for 60 days, during which they showcased their talents, personal growth and life experiences.
The grand finale is scheduled to take place on April 18, 2026, at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The event is expected to feature performances from entertainers including Chella, Bracket, Bimbo Akintola, Empress Njamah, Shortcut, Notrace, Roy General, Veno and Oge Kimono.
Abani stressed that the show seeks to project women above 40 as active contributors to society and national development. She added that by bringing together participants from different professional and social backgrounds, the programme demonstrates that maturity comes with wisdom, strength and renewed purpose.
According to her, the idea behind the show is to encourage women to continue pursuing their dreams regardless of age.
“Life begins at 40. For too long, women in their forties have been discouraged or overlooked. 40 and Fabulous Naija was created to celebrate them and unlock their untapped potential,” she said.
