The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has kicked off a fresh initiative to modernize its 2026 election process, emphasizing transparency and accountability. The federation has set up a new oversight team and hired an independent auditor to supervise the electoral process from start to finish.
Officials also revealed plans to review internal rules, streamline voting procedures, and introduce reforms aimed at making leadership elections more inclusive for all state associations, players, coaches, and referees.
In a bid to align with global standards, the NFF invited FIFA and CAF representatives to observe the preparations and provide guidance on international best practices.
The federation’s leadership stressed that these changes are part of a broader effort to improve governance and restore public confidence in Nigerian football administration. Local government and sports authorities joined the event to show support for a fair and transparent election framework.
This version is fully reworked and focuses on reforms, transparency, and modernization rather than just announcing the election.
