The race saw Amusan narrowly beaten by Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson‑Herah, who claimed first place with a time of 22.61 seconds. Local sprinter Ackera Nugent completed the podium in third, highlighting the competitive field Amusan faced.

This outing marked Amusan’s first competitive race since her silver medal at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Switching from her usual hurdles event to a flat sprint, she demonstrated versatility and readiness for the season ahead.

Amusan’s strong finish in Jamaica sets a positive tone for the year, giving her momentum as she prepares for upcoming international competitions. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see how she will continue to perform in the lead-up to major meets later this season.
