Ebaretonbofa Invitational Draws Golfers from Across Nigeria

Over 250 golf enthusiasts — ranging from seasoned professionals to keen amateurs — are gathering at the Benin Golf Club in Edo State for a six‑day invitational tournament kicking off today. The event, running from March 23 to March 28, doubles as a celebration of the club captain Stephen Ebaretonbofa’s 50th birthday.

The week’s action opens with a special ladies’ round, followed by a day devoted to caddies from Edo and Delta states to honour their role in the sport. Midweek will spotlight a professional challenge as top Nigerian pros and invited players from golf clubs nationwide compete.

As the tournament progresses, competitors in various handicap categories, including veterans and super veterans, will take to the course. The closing day on Saturday will feature the final rounds for top handicap players, capped with a prize presentation and dinner at the club’s pavilion.
