The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved updates to its statutes and electoral regulations as it prepares for its next leadership election. These changes were finalized during an Extraordinary General Assembly meeting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Delegates voted to update the federation’s governance documents, including the statute book, electoral code, and standing orders for the general assembly.
The elective congress, where members will select leaders for the next term, is now scheduled to hold on September 26, 2026, in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Officials also named representatives to serve on the electoral and appeals committees, which will oversee the election process.
The statute amendments aim to modernize the federation’s governance, with supporters noting that previous rules were outdated and in need of reform ahead of the vote.
