Legendary golfer Tiger Woods was taken into custody in Florida after a single-vehicle accident on Friday afternoon. His SUV overturned while attempting to overtake on a narrow road near his Jupiter Island home, prompting an emergency response.
Authorities reported signs that Woods may have been impaired at the time of the crash. Although a breath test did not detect alcohol, he was charged with driving under the influence along with additional counts related to refusal to comply with testing and property damage.
Woods was uninjured in the incident and released from custody after several hours. The arrest adds to a series of off-course challenges for the golfer, who has previously faced legal and injury-related issues linked to driving incidents.
Representatives for Woods have not commented publicly, and legal proceedings are expected to continue as the case moves through the Florida justice system.
