Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly preparing for a fierce summer transfer battle over highly-rated RB Leipzig winger, Yan Diomande.
The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international has attracted strong interest from both Premier League giants, with Newcastle United also monitoring the situation. Diomande, valued at around £80 million, is seen as one of Europe’s most promising young talents.
Liverpool are believed to be targeting the winger as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Manchester United are keen to bring him in to strengthen their attacking options alongside Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha.
United may have an advantage, as Sesko—Diomande’s former RB Leipzig teammate—is expected to play a role in convincing the youngster to move to Old Trafford.
Diomande joined Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes for £20 million last year, after previously being overlooked by Rangers during a trial spell. Since then, his rapid rise has caught widespread attention.
One of his standout moments came in December when he scored a remarkable 18-minute hat-trick against Eintracht Frankfurt, becoming the second-youngest player in Bundesliga history to achieve the feat.
This season, he has registered 10 goals and six assists in 26 appearances, further boosting his profile ahead of a likely summer move.
