Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has congratulated the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, on his birthday, offering prayers for peace, prosperity, and wisdom in his reign.
In a goodwill message, she wished the monarch continued good health, happiness, and success, while also calling for sustained preservation of the Warri Kingdom’s cultural heritage. She ended her message with the traditional royal salute, “Ogiame Suoo,” as a mark of respect.
Her message comes months after a significant honour bestowed on her by the Warri monarch. Earlier this year, Ogiame Atuwatse III conferred on the First Lady the chieftaincy title of Utukpa-Oritse, also known as Ugbọnẹ́, in recognition of her service and contributions.
The ceremony, held in Warri, Delta State, drew prominent dignitaries, including the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
The Warri palace also decorated her with the Royal Order of Iwere (ROI), further strengthening ties between traditional institutions and Nigeria’s political leadership.
