The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has revealed that the country will hold Olympic Day celebrations on June 27, 2026, featuring activities designed to promote fitness, sportsmanship, and youth engagement.

According to the committee, the day will include community sports tournaments, fun runs, fitness challenges, and educational workshops to inspire people of all ages to lead healthier, more active lifestyles.

NOC officials said the initiative is part of a broader effort to cultivate talent at the grassroots level while reinforcing the values of discipline, teamwork, and fair play. Schools, local sports clubs, and community organizations are expected to take part in the festivities.

The celebration is also intended to encourage Nigerians to connect through sports, highlighting the unifying power of athletic participation and the importance of nurturing future generations of athletes.

The committee urged citizens to join in the events, emphasizing that Olympic Day is an opportunity to embrace wellness, celebrate local talent, and foster national pride.
