The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced plans to launch a new digital platform for processing the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card (CERPAC) applications starting August 1.
This was revealed in a statement by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Comptroller of Immigration, Akinsola Akinlabi, on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to Akinlabi, the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s ongoing reform agenda for the NIS, aimed at improving service efficiency, transparency, and accessibility. The new portal—available at https://cerpac.immigration.gov.ng—will allow applicants to complete their CERPAC applications online, eliminating the need for physical forms.
He emphasized that from August 1, physical application forms will no longer be accepted. “All CERPAC applications after July 31 must be submitted solely through the online portal,” Akinlabi stated.
The transition to a digital system is intended to enhance the application process for both individuals and companies responsible for expatriates. He urged applicants who have already made payments but are yet to submit their forms to do so before July 31, to avoid invalidation of their applications and forfeiture of fees.
Additionally, individuals and organizations with pending submissions are advised to complete all required processes within the set timeline to prevent any disruption. Any form not submitted by the deadline will be considered void.
Akinlabi concluded by encouraging the public to channel all inquiries regarding the new system through the Office of the Public Relations Officer and reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to providing efficient, technology-driven immigration services in line with global standards.
