The Traditional Rulers Council of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area in Enugu State has praised Governor Peter Mbah for his continuous commitment to improving security in the region since assuming office. During a solidarity visit to the Council Chairman, Barr. Obiora Obeagu, the royal fathers expressed appreciation for the state government’s significant investments in security and infrastructure, which have greatly enhanced safety and development in the area.
The monarchs, led by their chairman, His Royal Highness Engr. Okey Ogbodo, strongly condemned the recent violent attack in parts of Eha-Amufu that claimed several lives. They described the incident as a shocking reversal considering the strides made in securing the region through joint security deployments, road construction, and ongoing agricultural development projects such as the farm estate and produce city.
They commended Council Chairman Obeagu for his hands-on approach, especially his leadership in local security operations, and for working closely with Governor Mbah to ensure peace and progress. Igwe Ogbodo recalled the dire security situation in 2022, which saw the creation of IDP camps in the area, expressing gratitude that such scenarios are being firmly addressed through government interventions.
Igwe Pius Nnamani echoed these sentiments, lauding Obeagu’s relentless efforts despite challenges, and acknowledged the governor’s broader infrastructure and security initiatives aimed at opening up farm settlements and protecting lives.
In his response, Chairman Obeagu thanked the traditional rulers for their support, describing their visit as a morale booster. He acknowledged Governor Mbah’s strategic interventions in road construction, communication upgrades, and targeted security efforts. He assured the traditional leaders that both he and the state government remain committed to rooting out criminal elements and fostering a secure, prosperous Isi-Uzo.
