Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria on their historic triumph at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

In a statement issued on Sunday, Dr. Ogah expressed immense pride and joy over the team’s heroic performance, which saw Nigeria lift the WAFCON trophy once again, reaffirming their dominance in African women’s football.

“This is a moment of great national pride,” Dr. Ogah said. “The Super Falcons have once again proven that Nigerian women are a beacon of strength, talent, and determination. Their commitment and courage on the field brought joy to millions of Nigerians and united us in celebration.”

He described the team’s performance throughout the tournament as a masterclass in teamwork, discipline, and patriotic spirit, adding that their victory serves as an inspiration to the youth across the country.

Dr. Ogah commended the coaching crew, support staff, and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their role in ensuring the team’s success, urging them to build on this momentum for future international tournaments.

“This victory is not just about football. It is about the power of dreams, the beauty of unity, and the reward of hard work. The Super Falcons have shown us what is possible when we believe in ourselves and in our country,” he stated.

He also called for more investment in women’s football and sports infrastructure across Nigeria, stressing the need to harness the abundant talent in local communities for national and global impact.

Dr. Ogah concluded by praying for the continued success of the Super Falcons and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote youth development, national pride, and excellence in all sectors.
