A host of top Nigerian musicians, including Timi Dakolo, Flavour, Teni, and Fido, thrilled the Super Falcons with live performances during a presidential dinner held in their honour on Monday night. The celebratory event was organized by the Federal Government to recognise the team’s triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where the Falcons emerged champions once again.
The dinner took place at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, just hours after the Super Falcons returned from Morocco. The event served as a platform for the nation to express its gratitude and pride in the team’s outstanding performance on the continental stage, reinforcing their dominance in African women’s football.
Several prominent dignitaries graced the occasion, including the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite; and the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo. Popular comedian Seyi Law and football analyst Kelechi Anyikude were also in attendance, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the night.
The evening was marked by music, speeches, and applause, with the performers energizing the crowd and creating a jubilant mood. The event not only honoured the players’ dedication and success but also highlighted the country’s commitment to supporting women in sports and celebrating their achievements on national and international stages.
