Outrage as Fulani Man Sparks Tensions with Inciting Facebook Posts on Plateau Crisis

A Fulani man identified as Musa Idris Ubandoma has stirred controversy and public outrage with a series of inflammatory posts on Facebook, where he issued provocative conditions for peace to return to Plateau State. Ubandoma, who has previously made divisive remarks online, suggested that lasting peace in the state would only be possible if a Fulani Muslim were appointed deputy governor, along with the appointment of a Muslim Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

His posts, widely condemned by citizens, appear to endorse recent attacks and killings reportedly linked to Fulani militias in the region. Many Nigerians have expressed concern over the lack of response from security agencies, questioning why Ubandoma has not been arrested despite openly supporting violence and making threats against non-Muslim communities in Plateau.

In one of his more alarming statements, Ubandoma claimed that “Plateau belongs to the Fulani” and threatened continued destruction of those who oppose them. He further insulted non-Muslims using derogatory terms and declared an agenda to dominate Plateau State politically, with the ultimate goal of implementing Shari’a law.

In another post, Ubandoma demanded unrestricted grazing rights for Fulani herders across Nigeria, stating that cows should be allowed to eat crops freely and calling for the government to ensure the free movement of herders without repercussions. His comments have intensified concerns over incitement, religious intolerance, and ethnic tensions in a region already grappling with violence and insecurity.
