Frank Caprio, an American judge and celebrated reality TV personality, has passed away at the age of 88, as announced on his official social media accounts.

In a heartfelt statement on Instagram, his family revealed, “Judge Frank Caprio passed away peacefully at the age of 88 after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.” The statement highlighted Caprio’s legacy, noting, “Beloved for his compassion, humility, and unwavering belief in the goodness of people, Judge Caprio touched the lives of millions through his work in the courtroom and beyond. His warmth, humor, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him.”

Caprio dedicated nearly four decades to serving as a judge for the Providence Municipal Court, retiring in 2023. In his later years, he gained national recognition through his popular television show “Caught in Providence,” which garnered multiple Daytime Emmy Award nominations.

Affectionately dubbed the “Nicest Judge in the World,” Caprio’s appeal soared as clips from his show went viral on TikTok, earning him a substantial online following with over three million fans on Instagram and 1.6 million on TikTok.

His passing leaves a profound impact on those who admired him for his dedication to justice and the humanity he brought to the judicial system.
