The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested four suspects over alleged involvement in car theft and cattle rustling in Hadejia Local Government Area.
Spokesman of the Command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Sunday.
He said three suspects — Amadu Dan Zaria, Salisu Ya’u, and Musa Muhammad — were apprehended on September 17 in connection with the theft of a Daihatsu motor vehicle, which was later recovered in good condition. Investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court after completion of inquiries.
In a separate operation, police operatives working with a local vigilante group, Yanbulala, arrested another suspect, Isah Muhammad of Garin Mutum Daya in Kirakasamma LGA, for cattle rustling. He was intercepted during a patrol in Kwanar Bazawarai, Hadejia town, with two bulls suspected to have been stolen.
SP Adam said preliminary investigations are in progress and efforts are underway to track down his accomplices.
