Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah, CON, has declared that anyone still denying the transformation currently taking place in Abia State is simply opposed to progress and blinded by darkness.

Speaking while addressing journalists in Umuahia, Dr. Ogah stated, “It is only people that are made of darkness that can deny that light has come to Abia State.” He explained that Abia, for years, had suffered under stagnation, mismanagement, and neglect, but is now witnessing visible changes that every honest observer can attest to.

According to him, governance should be about impact, transparency, and service to the people, values he said are now being restored in the state. Dr. Ogah noted that beyond political affiliations, it is time for Abians to unite behind any leadership that genuinely prioritizes development and accountability.

“What matters is not which political party is in charge, but whether the government is delivering on its promises to the people,” he emphasized. “When roads are being constructed, salaries are being paid, and hope is being restored, only those who prefer darkness will deny that light has come.”

Dr. Ogah urged citizens to rise above partisanship and support initiatives aimed at rebuilding the state’s infrastructure and reviving its economy. He added that those who choose to criticize progress for selfish political reasons are doing a disservice to the people they claim to represent.

The former minister reaffirmed his commitment to a better Abia, stating that constructive collaboration among stakeholders remains the only way to sustain the new wave of development sweeping across the state.
