Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has unveiled an ambitious N1 trillion economic agenda designed to reposition the state for stronger growth and investment. The plan is aimed at stimulating development across key sectors and attracting large-scale funding.
The initiative will be formally introduced at a Global Economic and Tourism Summit scheduled to take place in Owerri from December 4 to 5, 2025. The event is expected to bring together investors, business leaders, and stakeholders from around the world to explore opportunities in the state.
Speaking after the Feast of Christ the King celebration, Uzodimma said the summit would help transform Imo into a hub for business, tourism, and economic advancement. He stressed the government’s commitment to reshaping the state’s future through strategic planning and partnerships.
The governor also addressed delays affecting the Light Up Imo Project, warning that attempts to frustrate the electricity expansion will not succeed. Additionally, he announced plans to revive cultural initiatives like the Ahiajoku Lecture Series, positioning arts and culture as part of the broader development drive.
