Kayode Ladele, President of the Paravolleyball Federation of Nigeria, has confirmed that preparations are complete for the maiden West Africa Zones A and B Para Games, scheduled to run from November 26 to December 4 at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena and Alake Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
The Games will feature athletes from across the region, including Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Togo, Cameroon, Liberia, Niger, The Gambia, and Seychelles. Ladele revealed that the national para volleyball team began their training camp on Monday at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, having been in rigorous preparation even before Nigeria’s official participation was confirmed.
Highlighting the team’s regional dominance, Ladele expressed confidence in Nigeria’s chances of securing gold. “We believe strongly that we will achieve success. When it comes to West African paravolley, Nigeria remains the strongest, and we will not lower our guard,” he stated, noting that the pressure of being the top team demands consistent excellence.
Ladele also praised the collaboration between the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria, the National Sports Commission, and the Para Volleyball Federation, describing their support as impressive. The Federation is optimistic about leading Team Nigeria to a major victory as the country competes for regional honors.
