“Rosenior Stands by Sánchez After Chelsea’s Carabao Cup Loss to Arsenal”

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has publicly defended goalkeeper Robert Sánchez following his mistakes in Chelsea’s 3‑2 Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg defeat to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

Despite Sánchez’s early errors that contributed to Arsenal’s opening goals, Rosenior said he takes responsibility for the mistakes, explaining that his goalkeeper was adapting to new tactical instructions and that errors are a shared team issue. He also emphasised that Sánchez made a crucial second-half save that helped keep Chelsea in the tie.

The match saw Arsenal take the advantage heading into the second leg, but Chelsea battled back with two goals from Alejandro Garnacho to make it competitive. Rosenior highlighted the challenging circumstances, including limited preparation time with his players and absences due to injury or illness.

Rosenior’s stance suggests he remains committed to Sánchez as the club works to improve its performances and push for a comeback in the return fixture.
