ARTEX Hosts Abia Governor’s Media Adviser Ferdinand Ekeoma on Media Connect Podcast

The Abia Association of Radio and Television Executives ARTEX has hosted the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Abia State Hon Ferdinand Ekeoma on its flagship podcast programme Media Connect where he addressed critical governance and political issues shaping the state. The interactive session provided a platform for open dialogue between the government and the media while allowing the public to gain accurate information on the policies and priorities of the Otti led administration.

During the programme Ekeoma spoke extensively on matters concerning traditional rulers in Abia State emphasizing the governor’s respect for cultural institutions and their role in grassroots development. He also highlighted major infrastructure projects being executed by Dr Alex Otti including road constructions urban renewal and the ongoing renewal of major routes in Umuahia and Aba. According to him these projects are part of a broader plan to reposition Abia as a modern and economically viable state with improved living standards for its residents.

The media adviser further responded to questions on the welfare of workers noting that the administration remains consistent in the payment of salaries and pensions. He stated that civil servants and retirees are now enjoying improved stability in their earnings compared to previous years adding that the governor considers workers welfare a cornerstone of sustainable governance. Ekeoma assured that the government will continue to prioritize prompt and transparent remuneration as a way of motivating the workforce.

On the issue of the rumoured defection of Governor Alex Otti to another political party Ekeoma dismissed the claims as false and misleading. He stressed that the governor remains firmly in the Labour Party and has no plans to leave. According to him such rumours are often spread by political opponents seeking to distract the administration from its developmental agenda. He reiterated that the governor is more focused on delivering good governance than engaging in political speculations.

ARTEX described the engagement as part of its commitment to promoting credible journalism public enlightenment and accountability through fact based discussions. The association noted that Media Connect serves as a bridge between policymakers and the public enabling citizens to hear directly from government officials on important issues affecting their lives.
