The Executive Mayor of Ohafia Local Government Area, Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu, has carried out an on-the-spot assessment visit to Nguzu Edda Junction along the Abiriba–Ohafia Expressway following an incident in which a diesel-laden tanker crashed into an Army checkpoint in the area.

During the visit, Chief Eleanya evaluated the situation firsthand, engaged with security operatives and Federal Road Safety Corps personnel, and expressed deep concern over the safety and possible environmental risks posed by the incident. He commended the Nigerian Army and other emergency responders for their prompt and professional intervention, which helped secure the area and prevent further damage.

The Mayor emphasized the importance of strict adherence to road safety regulations and urged motorists, particularly drivers of heavy-duty vehicles, to exercise extra caution while using major roads within the local government area. He reassured residents that the Ohafia Local Government would continue to collaborate closely with security agencies and relevant authorities to ensure the safety of lives and property along the expressway.
