Nigerian star Chukwuebuka Enekwechi delivered a solid performance at the World Indoor Tour event in Madrid, finishing fifth with a best throw of 20.38 metres. Despite not reaching the podium, his effort showed promise against a field of some of the world’s top competitors.

The competition was intense, with leading throwers surpassing the 21‑metre mark. The men’s shot put event was ultimately won by top international athletes, highlighting the level of challenge Enekwechi faced in his quest for a medal.

Although he fell short of a top-three finish, Enekwechi’s performance demonstrated strong early-season form. Observers noted his consistent technique and the potential to improve with further competition experience.

Looking ahead, Enekwechi is expected to use this outing as a stepping stone for upcoming events. With continued training and participation in more high-level meets, he aims to close the gap on the leading throwers and contend for medals later in the season.
