Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has stirred a new round of negotiations with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after submitting a detailed proposal outlining revised terms he wants before agreeing to extend his stay in charge.

Chelle, who still has one year left on his current contract, reportedly asked for a significant increase in his monthly salary — from about $50,000 to $130,000 — a figure that would also cover his technical staff and personal assistant.

But his requests go beyond just pay. The coach’s document, believed to contain approximately 19 points, includes demands for improved logistics such as a private SUV with a chauffeur and security, accommodation in a well‑secured area with uninterrupted power, a furnished office with tactical tools, and flight tickets for his family.

Chelle also wants greater influence over football operations, including full control over team selection, the staging of friendly matches, and structured access to domestic league games for scouting purposes.

The federation’s technical committee is set to review the proposals before they are presented to the full board, with insiders saying that financial and practical implications will be weighed carefully ahead of any decision.

Chelle’s push comes amid reported interest from clubs abroad and follows Nigeria’s third‑place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, adding another layer of complexity to talks over his future with the national team.
