Amid rising insecurity in Jos, the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS) has announced plans to relocate students from the Plateau State capital back to Bauchi for their safety.

The union said recent reports of violence and unrest in certain neighbourhoods have made it unsafe for students living away from home, prompting the urgent evacuation initiative.

NUBASS is coordinating with local authorities to ensure students can return safely, while also appealing for heightened security around student hostels and campus areas.

Officials emphasized that the move is preventive, aimed at protecting young people from potential threats and giving families peace of mind during a tense period in the city.
