Former students of Federal Government College Enugu have emerged overall winners at the 2026 Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA) Sports Festival, delivering a standout performance across multiple events.
The Enugu team topped the medals table after securing an impressive number of gold medals, along with several silver and bronze finishes, placing them ahead of other competing schools from across the country.
Defending champions, Federal Government College Ikot Ekpene, finished in second position after a strong showing but fell short of retaining their title.
The tournament, which lasted for several days, featured a variety of sporting activities such as football, basketball, swimming, tennis, and indoor games, attracting wide participation from alumni of unity schools nationwide.
Organisers highlighted that beyond competition, the festival serves as a platform to reconnect old students, promote friendship, and strengthen unity among participants. They noted that the event continues to foster teamwork and shared identity among graduates of federal government colleges.
The USOSA sports festival remains a major annual gathering, rotating among different host locations while encouraging healthy rivalry and long-lasting connections among alumni.
