Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who represents Abia North in the Senate, has addressed the growing rumours about President Bola Tinubu’s health. Speculations had circulated suggesting the president was critically ill, sparking public concern.

However, the presidency has refuted the claims, stating that President Tinubu is simply working from home. In a video posted to his official Facebook page on Monday night, Senator Kalu disclosed that he spoke with the president just a few hours earlier.

Kalu assured Nigerians that the president is in good condition, though he acknowledged that it’s normal for anyone, including leaders, to occasionally feel unwell or need rest. “I spoke with him two hours ago and he’s in good shape,” he said. “He’s been engaging with international contacts and is getting ready for a trip to Japan, with a stopover in Brazil.”

The senator urged political figures to refrain from spreading false narratives, emphasizing the need for unity in tackling the country’s economic challenges.
