Onuaku Uturu, Abia State — Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has congratulated the people of Abia State on the anniversary of its creation, hailing their resilience, progress, and unyielding hope for a brighter future.
In a goodwill message released on Tuesday, Dr. Ogah described the creation of Abia State as a historic milestone that gave Ndi Abia a stronger voice in Nigeria’s socio-political and economic landscape. He commended successive governments and the citizens for their contributions toward the growth of the state, despite challenges.
Abia at 34 is not just about celebrating our existence as a state, but about remembering the courage and sacrifices of our founding fathers who dreamt of a land where our people would thrive politically, socially, and economically. Their vision continues to inspire us today,” he said.
He hailed Governor Alex Otti for his exemplary leadership, which he described as an era of purposeful governance. According to him, the governor’s reforms and revival are setting Abia on the path of sustainable development
He urged Abians to continue working in unity, upholding values of hard work and integrity, while supporting initiatives that will accelerate industrial growth, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development.
Dr. Ogah further expressed optimism that with visionary leadership and the collective will of the people, Abia State would continue to stand tall as “God’s Own State”, fulfilling the aspirations of its founding fathers.
“On this day, I felicitate with every son and daughter of Abia. Let us continue to keep faith in God and in the destiny of our state. Together, we will achieve the greatness we seek,” he added.
