Kalu Foundation Sponsors Three Abia North Scholars for Postgraduate Studies in China

Three indigenes of Abia North Senatorial District have left Nigeria for China to pursue postgraduate studies through the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation Scholarship Programme, in collaboration with the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC).

The beneficiaries are:

1. Sunny O. Idika (Ohafor Ward, Ohafia LGA) – admitted for an MBA at Zhejiang Normal University, Jinhua.


2. Emmanuel Iheakachukwu Odoemelam (Eziama Agbo Ward, Nneato, Umunneochi LGA) – admitted for a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT).


3. Kingsley Onwukwe Orji (Igbere Ward A, Bende LGA) – admitted for an MBA at Zhejiang Normal University, Jinhua.



The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, health insurance, and monthly stipends, enabling the students to focus fully on their studies without financial challenges.

The initiative, championed by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu through his Foundation, reflects his dedication to youth empowerment, education, and international exposure for his constituents. Over the years, many young people from Abia North have benefitted from similar opportunities to study at world-class institutions abroad.

This latest batch of awardees strengthens the Foundation’s mission of building a knowledge-driven society and equipping the next generation with the skills to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s growth and development.
