The Dangote Group has denied reports linking its trucks to two fatal accidents that occurred on Wednesday in Enugu State.

In a statement issued Thursday by its spokesperson, Anthony Chijiena, the company clarified that the trucks involved in the separate crashes did not belong to Dangote Group or any of its subsidiaries.

This position aligns with the confirmation from the Enugu State Police Command, which identified the vehicles as belonging to two logistics companies—Visco Investment Global and Global Investment. The accidents claimed ten lives.

Expressing sympathy, Dangote said: “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families.” The company, however, raised concerns over the persistent spread of misinformation that often attributes such incidents to its brand without evidence.

It urged the public and media to verify information before circulation and reaffirmed its commitment to road safety. The Group also noted that it has consistently warned truck operators against illegally branding their vehicles with the Dangote logo and vowed to tighten monitoring measures, including pursuing legal action against offenders.
