Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has vowed to respond to recent remarks made by Sokoto South Senator, Aminu Tambuwal, against him and President Bola Tinubu.
Tambuwal, in an interview on Friday, said he would prefer former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over both Tinubu and Wike to lead Nigeria in 2027.
Reacting through his media aide, Lere Olayinka, Wike said he would not let Tambuwal’s comments go unanswered, stressing that Nigerians will soon understand what “betrayal” truly means and what it takes to have integrity.
“I have received numerous calls, particularly from journalists, regarding the Minister’s response. Apart from his remarks against the Minister, Tambuwal also spoke against President Tinubu, and such statements will not go unchallenged,” Olayinka stated.
He added that Wike will address the issue at the appropriate time:
“The Minister will respond accordingly. He will definitely tell Nigerians what betrayal is and what it means to have integrity. Until then, let’s keep our fingers crossed.”
