The Lagos State Chapter of the Christ Morning Star of Nigeria has celebrated its 33rd anniversary with a renewed focus on youth empowerment and community support.

In a statement shared on Monday, the fellowship said the thanksgiving service, held on Sunday at St. David’s Anglican Church, Lafiaji, Lagos, brought together members from different dioceses in a show of faith, unity, and generosity.

As part of the celebration, scholarships were awarded to nine university students to support their academic pursuits, while food items were distributed to less privileged church members and community residents, reflecting the society’s mission of extending Christ-like love through service.

Speaking on the significance of the event, the Lagos Chapter President, Olusegun Sobowale, described the anniversary as a time for reflection and renewed commitment. “We are a church-based society, and our core mandate is to shine the light of Christ through giving and support for those in need,” he said.

Other speakers at the event urged members to remain dedicated to serving God and humanity, while the anniversary featured prayers, music, and tributes to past and present members who have sustained the vision of Christ Morning Star in Lagos for over three decades.
