The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced registration for ad-hoc staff to serve in the upcoming Anambra State governorship election.

According to a notice posted on its official X handle on Monday, the application window opened on September 15 and will close on October 5, 2025.

The commission stated that the recruitment portal, INECPRES, is open to eligible Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Registration Area Technicians (RATECHs), and RAC Managers.

Applicants must reside in Anambra, Delta, Enugu, or Imo states, while RATECH positions are strictly reserved for INEC ICT staff. Interested candidates are also required to be non-members of political parties and must not have openly declared support for any candidate or party.

INEC explained that SPOs will be drawn from the federal public service and MDAs on specified grade levels, while POs and APOs will include serving or recent NYSC members, INEC staff, and eligible students of federal tertiary institutions. RAC Managers will generally be selected from hosting schools or institutions.

Eligible applicants are advised to register online via the designated web portal or Android mobile app, and carefully review the eligibility requirements before submission.

The recruitment exercise comes as INEC intensifies preparations for the Anambra off-cycle governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
