Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has commissioned the newly constructed 13-kilometre Nzam road, bringing long-awaited relief to residents of Anambra West Local Government Area who had endured years of neglect due to the absence of a motorable access road.
Speaking after inaugurating the project on Wednesday, Soludo described the development as a major breakthrough, noting that residents can now commute on a tarred road for the first time. He recalled making the promise during his gubernatorial campaign and expressed fulfillment at keeping his word.
The governor emphasized that his administration is focused on delivering projects within a set timeline, highlighting the road as part of his broader agenda of transformation and development, particularly for communities that had been marginalized. He also welcomed prominent political figures from Anambra West who joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), describing the party as a strong political movement in the state.
State officials, including the Commissioner for Local Government, Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, praised the progress made under Soludo’s leadership, stressing that all local governments have benefitted within four years. APGA State Chairman, Ifeatu Obiokoye, also commended the governor for fulfilling his campaign promise, while new members from other parties, led by Chief John Ozoemena, pledged their support for Soludo’s re-election bid.
