The Nigeria Police Force has debunked a viral public notice circulating on social media, which falsely claimed that a nationwide recruitment exercise would commence on September 22, 2025.

The forged document, titled “Nigeria Police Force Recruitment Exercise 2025,” invited applications from SSCE, OND, HND, and B.Sc. holders across different fields. It listed supposed requirements, such as age limits, academic qualifications, physical fitness standards, and height benchmarks, while also warning against secret cult membership. The notice further directed applicants to submit their details via a purported recruitment portal beginning September 23, 2025.

However, in a post on its verified X handle on Thursday, the Nigeria Police Force dismissed the document as fake, stamping “FAKE” across the notice and clarifying that no such recruitment had been approved or announced.

Similarly, the Police Service Commission (PSC) reiterated that it has not commenced any 2025 recruitment exercise. PSC spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, emphasized in a statement issued on August 30 that the adverts in circulation are fictitious and misleading. He urged young Nigerians aspiring to join the Force to disregard such fraudulent publications and await the official recruitment announcement.
