Bauchi Civil Service Dismisses Officials for Forgery, Approves Major Promotions

The Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has dismissed two senior officials over forgery and falsification of documents, citing violations of Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii, and vi).

In a statement on Wednesday, the commission’s spokesperson, Saleh Umar, identified the affected officers as Yusuf Ningi, an Administrative Officer, and Suleiman Ahmed, a Principal Executive Officer I. Both were formerly assigned to the Government House from the Office of the Head of Civil Service.

The commission confirmed that the decision was reached at its 35th plenary session on September 23, 2025, and took effect immediately. It stressed that the move was necessary to safeguard integrity and accountability in the state’s civil service.

Meanwhile, the plenary also approved the promotion of several senior officers. Three substantive directors were elevated, while four deputy directors advanced to the rank of director. Others promoted include directors of administration and human resources, audit, planning, research and statistics, civil litigation, and land valuation. Additionally, eight chief state counsel and a chief land officer were promoted to deputy director.

Commission Chairman, Ibrahim Muhammad, urged civil servants to strictly comply with service rules and ethical guidelines to eliminate malpractice and strengthen service delivery. He congratulated the newly promoted officers, charging them to remain committed to diligent service.

This latest action follows the recent dismissal of an education officer on September 11 for sexual harassment. The commission noted that all decisions taken were based on recommendations from the Office of the Head of Civil Service.
