President Bola Tinubu on Friday arrived in Lagos for a working visit shortly after attending the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The visit, announced in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, comes ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, which will be marked with modest celebrations.

According to the statement, while in Lagos, the President will hold meetings with key private sector leaders and senior government officials. He is also expected to inaugurate the remodelled National Theatre in Lagos, which has been renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, as part of activities lined up for the Independence celebrations.

Speaking earlier in Ibadan during the coronation of Oba Ladoja, President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that the sacrifices made over the past two years to support economic reforms are beginning to yield results.

“Today, I am honoured to bring the cheering news that our economy has turned around and there is now light at the end of the tunnel,” Tinubu said. He credited the progress to the resilience, patience, and support of Nigerians, stressing that their sacrifices over the last 28 months have not been in vain.
