Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Ms. Somtochukwu Maduagwu, a journalist with Arise TV, who was killed during an armed robbery in Abuja on Monday, September 29, 2025.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Governor Otti described Maduagwu as a talented broadcaster whose promising life and career were tragically cut short by criminals “with no regard for human life.”

The governor urged security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident, apprehend the perpetrators, and ensure justice is served.

While praying for the repose of Maduagwu’s soul, Otti extended his condolences to her family, colleagues at Arise TV, and friends, urging them to take solace in the impact she made during her lifetime.
