The Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) has commenced the posting and reposting of newly recruited teachers across the state, in accordance with the directive of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.

In a public statement issued on October 3, 2025, the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, Mrs. Lydia Ezihe Onuoha, explained that the exercise is part of the governor’s commitment to ensuring the effective deployment of teachers to schools where their skills will have the greatest impact.

According to ASUBEB, the initiative aligns with the AbiaFirst Education Policy, which focuses on improving the quality of teaching and promoting excellence in public schools.

The announcement further directed teachers who wish to be reposted to submit their details—including full name, staff ID, current place of primary assignment (PPA), and preferred PPA—via the ASUBEB Contact Centre (07076904864) through SMS or WhatsApp, or by visiting the Office of the Executive Chairman at the E-Library Complex, Umuahia.

Mrs. Onuoha emphasized that the posting and reposting exercise is designed to enhance efficiency, fairness, and productivity within the state’s education system.

ASUBEB reaffirmed its dedication to strategically positioning every teacher to contribute effectively to Governor Otti’s vision of a vibrant, quality-driven basic education system in Abia State.
