Ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) support group, Anambra Patriots for Soludo (APS), has called on non-indigenes living in the state to re-elect Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the APGA flagbearer, to enable him to continue his developmental strides.

The call was made during an endorsement rally organised by the Association of Non-Indigenes in Anambra State at the International Convention Centre, Awka, on Tuesday. The group, made up of residents from Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Edo, Igala, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and other ethnic groups, unanimously endorsed Soludo, citing his commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development.

Speaking at the event, the National Convener of APS, Okey Ezeibe, applauded Soludo’s visionary leadership, describing his three-and-a-half-year administration as transformational and inclusive. “Our decision to support the governor’s second-term bid is based on his remarkable achievements and the socio-economic progress visible across the state,” Ezeibe stated, urging non-indigenes to translate their endorsement into votes during the election.

Also speaking, the Deputy National Director of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria and Siriki Fulani Awka, Alhaji Gidado Siddikki, praised the governor’s efforts in improving infrastructure and promoting harmony between indigenes and non-indigenes, saying Soludo deserves a chance to consolidate on his achievements.

In his response, Governor Soludo reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance, stressing that everyone residing in Anambra is part of the state. “Once you live in Anambra, you are from Anambra and treated equally,” he said. The governor highlighted key initiatives such as the recruitment of over 8,000 teachers from 18 states, free education in public schools, and free antenatal and delivery care for women across the state.

Soludo also emphasised national unity, urging citizens to live by the words of Nigeria’s national anthem — “In brotherhood we stand.” He called on residents to actively participate in the forthcoming election, adding, “Wherever you live should be your home. It is the duty of every citizen to vote come November 8.”

He concluded by commending supporters for taking ownership of the campaign, noting that contributions and volunteer efforts from citizens reflect a growing sense of shared responsibility and commitment to building a prosperous, united Anambra.

The event was attended by top government officials, community leaders, and APGA supporters from across the state.
