The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has been recognised for its exceptional commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability in service delivery. The agency received the National Integrity, Leadership, and Development Award as Nigeria’s Most Efficient Aviation Agency from the Centre for Ethical Conduct Orientation and Empowerment (CECOE). The honour was presented during the 2025 Summit and Awards held recently in Abuja.

CECOE, a body dedicated to promoting ethical governance and leadership as foundations for national development, said the recognition reflects NAMA’s consistent adherence to professionalism and ethical standards in its operations. According to the organisers, NAMA’s emphasis on integrity and accountability has set a benchmark in the aviation industry, contributing significantly to efficiency and airspace safety under the leadership of its Managing Director, Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk.

The Centre commended Engr. Farouk as a visionary technocrat whose transformational leadership has strengthened aviation infrastructure and enhanced institutional credibility. It described him as “a reformer with a rare combination of technical expertise and ethical clarity,” whose management approach continues to inspire excellence across the sector.

In a related development, NAMA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Dr. Abdullahi Musa, also received the Individual Integrity Award for his outstanding role in promoting transparency in the agency’s communications and stakeholder engagements. CECOE praised his professionalism, noting that his work has helped build public trust and reinforced NAMA’s image as a transparent, efficient, and citizen-oriented organisation.
