Prominent Christian leader, Uche Ume, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Evangelist Uma Ukpai, describing him as a spiritual father whose life and ministry deeply impacted generations.
Ume, who visited the Ukpai family alongside his wife and associates, shared that the visit, which also included a worship session with members of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, brought him comfort despite his grief. He was joined by Rev. P.K. Emeaba during the visit.
“I went with a heavy heart,” Ume said, “but seeing Mummy Ukpai, the children, and members of the ministry standing strong encouraged me. I joined them in glorifying God for the gift of Daddy Uma.”
Reflecting on Ukpai’s legacy, Ume compared him to biblical patriarchs, saying, “I never saw Abraham or David in this life, I’ll see them in heaven but I’m grateful I saw Daddy Uma Ukpai and related with him as a son. I will see him again on that glorious day when the saints shall gather.”
He concluded his message with a personal vow of loyalty: “Continue to rest, my father. Your boy, Uche Ume, will remain faithful to your house until Jesus comes.”
