The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has informed the Federal High Court in Abuja that his witnesses are set to arrive from various parts of the world, including Ethiopia, Kenya, and the United States.
Kanu, who appeared in court on Thursday for the continuation of his trial, stated through his legal team that the witnesses would testify on issues surrounding his extraordinary rendition and the alleged violations of his fundamental rights.
He emphasized that the testimonies would be crucial to establishing the facts of his case, particularly regarding his arrest and transfer to Nigeria in 2021.
The court has adjourned further hearing to allow time for the defense to present the international witnesses and relevant evidence.
Kanu has been facing trial on charges bordering on treasonable felony and incitement since his re-arrest and return to Nigeria from Kenya.
