Smartphone manufacturer TECNO has unveiled the global winners of its 2025 Shot On CAMON Photography Contest, an annual competition celebrating creativity, culture, and storytelling through mobile photography.

In a statement released on Monday, TECNO said the 2025 edition — themed “Capturing the Pulse, the Bond and the Motion of Life” — attracted over 10,000 entries from 56 countries, making it one of the world’s most inclusive photography challenges. Organised in collaboration with Amateur Photographer magazine, the contest encourages visual storytellers from emerging markets to express authentic human experiences through technology.

This year’s grand winner and recipient of the TECNO Photography Master title is Nigerian photographer @micheal_the_colorist, whose captivating image “High Spirits” earned him the top prize of $10,000. Captured with the CAMON 40 Pro, the photo depicts friends mid-jump, their colorful attire and outstretched arms forming a vibrant tableau of joy and freedom against a clear blue sky.

A total of $37,000 in prizes was distributed across ten winners, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards of $5,000, $3,000, and $1,000 respectively, and ten others receiving the TECNO FriendPrize, each rewarded with a CAMON 40 Premier 5G smartphone.

Editor of Amateur Photographer, Nigel Atherton, commended the participants’ originality and emotional depth, noting that this year’s contest reflected “clear growth in confidence and individuality.” TECNO’s Chief Marketing Officer, Laury Bai, added that the competition underscores the brand’s mission to empower global creators. “Every photograph tells a story — of emotion, rhythm, and connection. Through Shot On CAMON, we aim to inspire people everywhere to capture life’s extraordinary moments,” Bai said.

From May to September 2025, participants submitted works in three categories — Snap Every Pulse, Snap All Fleeting Bonds, and Snap Any Motion — each highlighting emotion, connection, and movement. Winning entries ranged from scenes of friendship and community to breathtaking depictions of motion and play.

TECNO announced that all category winners will join an exclusive London Photography Tour later in 2025, offering them a chance to collaborate with global creatives and showcase their work. The winning photos will also appear in TECNO’s annual photo book, global exhibitions, and across the brand’s official platforms to inspire new generations of storytellers worldwide.
