Lagos to Host 9th Tech Innovation Awards Celebrating Africa’s Digital Pioneers

The 9th edition of the Tech Innovation Awards (TIA) is set to honour Africa’s foremost innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders advancing digital transformation across the continent.

According to the organisers, the 2025 edition will take place on November 29, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, celebrating excellence in artificial intelligence, fintech, agritech, renewable energy, and sustainable technology solutions.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Chief Executive Officer of InstinctWave Group, Akin Naphtal, described the awards as a vital platform for showcasing Africa’s progress in the digital economy.

> “The Tech Innovation Awards have consistently served as a beacon for Africa’s digital economy,” Naphtal said. “Through this platform, we spotlight groundbreaking ideas, encourage collaboration, and help scale startups while amplifying under-represented voices and attracting investment to Africa’s tech ecosystem.”

Organised in partnership with Digital Economy Magazine, the awards are open to individuals, organisations, teams, and government agencies across the continent.

Submissions will undergo a rigorous merit-based evaluation, recognising innovations that enhance digital connectivity, promote economic inclusion, and support sustainable development in line with Africa’s Agenda 2063.

The 2025 edition introduces several new award categories, including:

Best Bank in Sustainability

Innovative Renewable Energy Provider of the Year

Financial Inclusion Bank of the Year

Cross-border Fintech Solution Award

Technology Person of the Year

Innovative Tech Delivery Company of the Year

Additional categories will highlight achievements in digital infrastructure, agricultural technology, and transformative logistics solutions.

In a statement, Digital Economy Magazine emphasised that the awards provide a platform to celebrate visionaries dismantling barriers to digital inclusion and economic empowerment across Africa.
